CFRE International is pleased to announce that Japan Fundraising Association (JFRA) is now a Participating Organisation with CFRE International.
Japan Fundraising Association was established on 18th February 2009. There were 580 founding members, including experts and leading fundraisers from NPOs, academics and the media. The founding members believed that it was important to promote innovation in the culture of charitable giving in Japanese society. Four hundred participants attended JFRA’s Funding Ceremony at United Nations University.
Over the last 3 years, JFRA has introduced positive attitudes towards charitable giving in Japanese society, and has held an annual Fundraising Conference, which has been successful in attracting 700 delegates. JFRA has also started its own Certified Fundraisers (CFR) qualification in Japan, as well as publishing ‘Giving Japan’ and the ‘Learning to Give’ program in order to promote philanthropic giving.
As partners, JFRA and CFRE International will work together to promote certification for fundraising professionals and best practices in ethical fundraising. As a Participating Organisation, JFRA members will receive a 20% discount on CFRE initial and recertification fees. In addition, individuals who complete JFRA’s Certified Fundraiser (CFR) program will be eligible to receive CFRE Continuing Education Points toward CFRE initial certification and recertification.
