About the CFRE Ambassador Role
CFRE Ambassadors work closely with CFRE International staff as brand ambassadors. Their role is to champion CFRE certification within the fundraising profession, share accurate and timely information about CFRE certification, and mentor future CFREs.
Term
One year (January through December).
Time Commitment
Approximately 2-5 hours per month.
Qualifications
CFRE Ambassadors must hold current CFRE certification.
Conflicts of Interest
CFRE Ambassadors may not use their role for personal, family, or professional gain. They may not obtain for themselves, relatives, or friends a financial or material interest of any kind from their connection to CFRE International as a CFRE Ambassador.
Travel
Travel is not required, nor covered by CFRE International.
Responsibilities
Our goal is to attract more fundraising professionals to attain the CFRE credential so that we may collectively continue to champion confidence, ethics, and professionalism in fundraising. CFRE Ambassadors support the success and growth of the CFRE credentialing program through consistent promotion and engagement throughout their term.
All CFRE Ambassadors are requested to:
- Mentor future CFREs
- Share and engage with CFRE International’s LinkedIn posts
- Identify opportunities to liaise between CFRE International and their AFP chapter/other fundraising-related organizations
- Provide written quotes/testimonials about their CFRE and fundraising experience
- Actively participate in CFRE Central online communities
Depending on requests received and each Ambassador’s comfort level, we will connect Ambassadors to additional opportunities, including:
- Virtually presenting “How to Become a CFRE” (presentation materials provided by CFRE International)
- Participating in pre-recorded video interviews
- Writing blog posts
- Participating as a guest speaker for webinars/podcasts
- Hosting and/or exhibiting at local events, conferences, etc.
- Participating in special projects for CFRE International

- Name inclusion in CFRE International’s Annual Report
