CFRE International 2022 Board of Directors announced

Alexandria, VA, USA – CFRE International is pleased to announce its 2022 Board of Directors.

Despite the worldwide pandemic, the number of Certified Fund Raising Executives (CFREs) has climbed to its highest-ever number. Currently, there are more than 7,500 certificants across 26 countries. The leadership of the CFRE International Board of Directors has been instrumental in growing global recognition of the certification and ensuring it prepares certificants to meet pressing fundraising challenges head-on.

“In our recent election for four seats available beginning in 2022, two current board members, India Alexis Ehioba, MNA, CFRE, and Mark Stuart, CFRE, were re-elected. Phillip Rothwell, MBA, CFRE, and Astrid von Soosten, CFRE, were newly elected. We look forward to our new and existing board members’ contributions. Together, these 11 board members will sustain the certification’s momentum,” said CFRE International President and CEO Eva E. Aldrich, Ph.D., CAE, (CFRE, 2001 – 2016).

Members of the 2022 CFRE International Board of Directors are:

Thomas P. Berekoff, MA, CFRE – Chair
President and CEO, tpb strategic council ltd., Canada. Holds a master’s degree in philanthropy and development from Saint Mary’s University and a bachelor’s degree in sport management from the University of Lethbridge. CFRE since 1995.

India Alexis Ehioba, MNA, CFRE – Vice Chair and Chair’s Advisor for DEIA
CEO, Shore Community Services, United States. Holds a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from North Park University and a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications from The Ohio State University. CFRE since 2008.

Mark Stuart, CFRE – Secretary/Treasurer
President & CEO, The San Diego Foundation, United States. Holds a master’s degree in educational administration from McDaniel College and a bachelor’s degree in English, political science, and public service from Albion College. CFRE since 2014.

Catherine Bays, CFRE
Chief Development Officer, Museum of Discovery, United States. Holds a bachelor’s degree in English with secondary education certification from the University of Arkansas. CFRE since 2012.

Vincent Law, CFRE, MInstF(Dip)
Advisor, Fund Development, and Communications, SOS Villages International Asia, Hong Kong. Holds a master’s degree in the psychology of education from City University, a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Imperial College London, a diploma in child psychology from Open University, Hong Kong, and a postgraduate diploma in lifelong education from the University of Nottingham, UK. CFRE since 2006.

Elizabeth LeClair, CFRE
Director of Advancement, SPCA Nova Scotia, Canada. Holds a master’s degree from Cardiff University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Dalhousie University. CFRE since 2013.

Jeff Norris, MBA, CFRE
President & CEO, Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation, Canada. Holds an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Saskatchewan. CFRE since 2003.

Lesley Ray, MBus, CFRE, FFIA 
Executive Director of Philanthropy, Mater Foundation, Australia. Holds a master’s degree in philanthropic studies from the Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies at Queensland University of Technology. CFRE since 2002.

Phillip Rothwell, MBA, CFRE
Director of Development, Warwick Independent Schools Foundation, United Kingdom. Holds an MBA from Durham University Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Theology and Religion from the University of Durham. CFRE since 2015.

Astrid von Soosten, CFRE
