Alexandria, VA (April 14, 2026) – CFRE International proudly announces Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) as its newest Participating Organization.
Through 111 councils across the United States and more than 92 countries through USA Girl Scouts Oversees, Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Since being chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1950, more than 50 million women in America have enjoyed Girl Scouts during their childhood—and that number continues to grow.
Through CFRE International, the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE®) certification is an internationally recognized, voluntary credential that supports a fundraiser's professional growth and commitment to the philanthropic sector. Participating Organizations promote CFRE certification to their members to support fundraising professionals in centering their work on globally accepted ethical best practices. As a Participating Organization, fundraising professionals who work for GSUSA receive a 20 percent discount on CFRE® initial certification and recertification.
“Girl Scouts of the USA work to build a better world by empowering girls from all backgrounds and abilities to reach their full potential. Fundraising professionals working for GSUSA are vital to supporting and expanding the opportunities for Girl Scouts. Strong development teams putting ethics at the center of their work will help GSUSA deliver on their mission,” said CFRE International Board Chair Stephen Mally, CFRE, FFIA. “This partnership supports development teams at GSUSA by placing the CFRE credential within closer reach to their fundraisers.”
“We’re proud to welcome Girl Scouts of the USA as a Participating Organization. Their commitment to developing strong, values-driven leaders aligns closely with CFRE International’s mission to certify experienced fundraising professionals who aspire to the highest standards of ethics, competence, and service. This partnership reflects the growing recognition that investing in fundraising professionalism strengthens organizations and the communities we serve,” said CFRE International CEO Reno Deschaine, CAE.
