Remote Proctoring Temporarily Disabled for CFRE Exam

By CFRE International posted 3 hours ago

CFRE International introduced online remote proctoring of the CFRE Exam in 2021 to accommodate test-takers during the global COVID-19 pandemic. This was crucial to maintaining the continuity of our examination processes during an unprecedented time.

Since then, the number of candidates choosing to test remotely has diminished. Despite our efforts to support this mode of testing, we have encountered increased challenges:

  • Growing reports of technological issues experienced by candidates.
  • An increase in situations involving candidates violating testing rules.

After careful consideration, we have decided to temporarily discontinue online remote proctoring of the CFRE Exam (effective immediately) as we investigate these challenges with our partners at Pearson, and consider alternatives

Our commitment to you remains: Ensure a consistentsecure, and equitable testing environment for all candidates, necessary for maintaining the integrity of the CFRE Exam.

While online remote proctoring is temporarily discontinued, in-person testing at a Pearson Test Center continues to be available as a reliable mode of testing. Visit Pearson’s website to find a Pearson Test Center near you (locations globally).

As always, we remain committed to CFRE’s mission of ethical fundraising, practiced in an environment of trust, respect, and accountability. We will share an update to this announcement once the investigation is complete. Thank you for your continued dedication to the fundraising profession.
