Reno Deschaine, CAE, Named Next CFRE International Chief Executive Officer

Alexandria, VA, USA (February 3, 2006) – CFRE International has announced that Reno Deschaine, CAE, will be the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

“I am grateful to the CFRE International Board of Directors for the opportunity to serve as Chief Executive Officer. As a globally respected credential, CFRE has a strong legacy of setting high standards in ethics-based philanthropy through a valid and reliable certification process,” Deschaine said. “I am honored to work alongside our engaged international community of fundraising professionals, Board of Directors, volunteers, and staff as we continue to steward the integrity of the CFRE credential while positioning the organization for sustainable growth and increased global relevance.”

Deschaine brings more than 15 years of experience leading and advancing credentialing programs at global organizations. He previously served in executive leadership roles at the National Association of Corporate Directors, the Global Association for the Attractions Industry, and the Institute of Internal Auditors, where he modernized and scaled global certification programs and products, as well as led enterprise-wide operations.

CFRE International partnered with DRiWatersone Human Capital, based in Alexandria, Virginia, in leading and executing the search.

Deschaine will begin his role on February 23, 2026.
