1) Start your application at no cost. Pay only when you are ready to submit it. Log in and out as many times as you like.
2) Keep track to stay on track. Inside your application, track your education, professional performance (funds raised, management projects, and communications projects), and professional practice (time in a fundraising role).
3) Pay and submit your application when you have met the points requirements in each category. The cost is USD $700 for members of participating organizations or USD $875 at the regular rate. After your application is approved, you will receive information on how to schedule your exam.
4) Review the Test Content Outline to set your study plan. Check out all of our resources in the Study Aids section of our website.
5) Study a minimum of 40 hours (plan to study at least 80 hours if you have fewer than five years of professional fundraising experience).
6) Take the exam at your nearest PearsonVUE testing center.
7) Once you pass the exam, you’re a CFRE!
