Our congratulations go out this week to Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA) 2019 award winners Meredith Dwyer, FFIA, CFRE, and Alan White, MFIA, CFRE. Both were honored at the Fundraisers’ Gala Awards Dinner held February 28, during the 2019 FIA Conference in Melbourne, Australia.
The Arthur Venn Award
Meredith Dwyer, FFIA, CFRE, who first achieved CFRE certification in 2011, was honored as the 2019 recipient of the Arthur Venn Fundraiser of the Year Award. Meredith is the Director of HomeMade Australia, a creative, development and fundraising optimization agency working with NGOs around the world such as ActionAid, Cancer Research UK, Save the Children, and UNICEF. Meredith has served as the FIA Queensland Committee Chair since 2017.
The Arthur Venn Award, FIA’s top individual fundraising honor, recognizes a fundraiser who has made an outstanding contribution to fundraising. A fundraiser selected for the Arthur Venn Award has shown consistent excellence and best practice in fundraising through their actions, leadership, and intellect.
The Young Fundraiser of the Year Award
Alan White, MFIA, CFRE, who earned his CFRE in 2018, received FIA’s Young Fundraiser of the Year Award. He serves as Fundraising Manager for the Asylum Seeker Resource Center in Melbourne, Australia.
The Young Fundraiser of the Year Award recognizes a fundraiser aged 30 years or younger who has made a significant contribution to fundraising. A fundraiser honored as the Young Fundraiser of the Year has shown consistent excellence and best practice through their actions, leadership and intellect.
