Alexandria, VA – January 23, 2019 – The Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE®) certification became the only accredited, globally recognized fundraising certification in June 2017 when the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited CFRE certification under the ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 standard for personnel certification programs.
Recently, ANSI was accepted as a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA), which extended recognition to all certifications accredited by ANSI. Being recognized by IAF provides further confidence that ANSI accreditation conforms to global requirements for accreditation bodies (ISO/IEC 17011) and successfully demonstrates its competence through a rigorous peer evaluation process.
Certifications, including the CFRE, offered by a signatory of the IAF MLA provide further acceptance on a global basis. Many governmental agencies, certification bodies, and suppliers only accept certifications accredited by an IAF MLA signatory. Among the many national accreditation bodies recognizing CFRE certification through the IAF MLA are the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ), the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), and the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS).
As such, CFREs can continue to have full confidence that their CFRE certification carries the highest regard internationally and meets the most stringent global standards.
